Al-Darfili: 70 Papers to Discuss Contemporary Women’s Issues at the Istanbul Conference in November

Professor Ashraf Al-Darfili, Executive Director of the Union of Afro-Asia Universities and General Supervisor of the conference “Contemporary Women’s Issues in the Writings of Reformers – Challenges and Mechanisms of Addressing Them,” stated that the conference committees are completing their work in preparation for the event, which will take place from November 25-26 in Istanbul, Turkey.

Al-Darfili explained that the conference administration has sent visa invitation letters to all participants, noting that the sessions will feature discussions on 70 academic papers. He highlighted that the researchers have submitted 70 scientific papers, characterized by academic rigor and research depth, addressing contemporary women’s issues. He considered this a significant step towards embedding the conference’s ideas in different communities to achieve the desired impact of these activities.

Al-Darfili mentioned that the conference, which will be held at Üsküdar University, will be inaugurated with the participation of prominent Arab academic and women’s leaders. These include Sudan’s Minister of Higher Education, Professor Muhammad Hassan Dahab, the Minister of Religious Affairs of the Maldives, Mr. Said Yusha, Chairman of the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Science in Turkey, Dr. Hala Adly Hussein, Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Women Leaders affiliated with the Arab League, Professor Ibrahim Zakariya, President of the Islamic University of the Maldives, Professor Nasir Hamid, President of Muhammadiyah University in Indonesia, and Professor Saeed Burhan Abdullah, President of the Union of African Scholars.

Among the attendees will also be Minister Abdul Majid Al-Makhlafi, representative of the Union of Afro-Asia Universities in Turkey and Head of the Training and Consulting Sector at Aqua Group for Technology and Education, Professor Al-Hadi Adam, Director of Al-Neelain University in Sudan, Professor Muhammad Abdullah Suleiman, Director of the Quranic University for Science and Knowledge Establishment in Sudan, Professor Amal Fathallah Zarkashi, Vice President of the Union of Afro-Asia Universities and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Dar Al-Salam Kontor in Indonesia, Dr. Manal Mahmoud Ahmed Mahdi, representative of the Union and General Manager of Aqua Group for Technology and Education, and Dr. Amira Abdel Moneim Abdel Hai, Head of the Commercial Sector at Aqua Group for Technology and Education.

The General Supervisor of the conference announced that 15 individuals would be honored during the opening session of the “Contemporary Women’s Issues” conference.

Among those honored will be Dr. Hala Adly Hussein, Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Women Leaders and President of the National Council for Women in Australia, Professor Amal Fathallah Zarkashi, Vice President of the Union of Afro-Asia Universities and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Dar Al-Salam Kontor in Indonesia, Professor Badria Suleiman Abbas, President of the Union of Arab Women Leaders, the Grand Mufti of Australia, Professor An’am Al-Shahebi, a member of the Union’s Committee of Experts and Crisis Management, and Dr. Zainab Al-Bayati, Chairwoman of the Board of the Zahra Al-Sharq Organization.

International newspapers and satellite channels are preparing to cover the events of the international conference titled “Contemporary Women’s Issues in the Writings of Reformers – Challenges and Solutions,” which is scheduled to be held in Istanbul from November 25 to 26, 2022.
