Dr. Ashraf Al-Darfeli, Executive Director of the Union of Afro-Asian Universities, Professor of Creed and Philosophy at the International Islamic University in Islamabad, Pakistan, and General Coordinator of the Conference, stressed that the conference aims to highlight the role of universities and scientific institutions in confronting the Corona crisis and the efforts, steps, and guidance and community programs that have been taken since the outbreak of the Corona virus.

Al-Darfeli pointed out that values have an important place in human life, despite the fact that they are not observed objectively or studied quantitatively, and no mathematical equation can express them. They are the orbit of philosophical thinking that a person should be enlightened by to improve the management of his life. Philosophy is what diagnoses and treats the “disease of the contemporary soul” within the framework of a comprehensive view that coordinates in a person between “what he can know, what he must do, and what he may hope for.” It is true that knowledge is a tremendous force, but this force remains blind if it is not subjected to the control of values…

Al-Darfeli added that through this conference, the efforts of the universities and institutes that are members of the union and others were reviewed for the sake of benefit and benefit and transfer of experiences and visions, which varied and included the levels of students, faculty members, administrators and members of society. Therefore, the union monitored the interaction of universities, institutes, scientific and research institutions.
